About the Concepcion Family

Our History

Driven by his dream to empower every Filipino through his vision of Philippine Industrialization, Jose N. Concepcion Sr. left his Chief Executive position in a multinational company in 1962 and formed Concepcion Industries Inc. (CII) with his children Raul, Rene, and Mely.

Over the years, Concepcion ushered in global brands, built factories, and elevated Filipino craft and workmanship to world standard.

60’s & 70’s – Industrialization

In the first year, Concepcion acquired the license for Carrier Air Conditioners. Within the decade, it had forged alliances with Motorola Communications, Quasar Television, and Kelvinator Refrigerator. Built their first factory to manufacture products in Alabang, Muntinlupa. And integrated with key alliance partners like Kobelco copper tubing, Copeland compressors, and Gould motors and pumps to support local production.

70’s & 80’s – Consolidation

Concepcion, and Jose Concepcion Jr. brought CII into the ranks of the top 100 corporations of the country.

90’s & 00’s – Local to Global

In the early 90’s, with the opening up of the Philippine economy, the Concepcion leadership foresaw the need to prepare CII for globalization. It built state-of-the-art factories for refrigerators and air conditioners, a Research & Development Center, and continued to form strategic partnerships with key global companies.

Guided by the values of integrity, hard work, customer centricity, and the entrepreneurial spirit handed down through three generations, strong leadership has steered Concepcion through its many phases to become the colossus it is today.

This Concepcion brand of leadership continues to be the guiding light as the company pushes forward to transform the business, anticipate customer needs, and elevate consumer experiences as it creates happy spaces for every Filipino.
